is a young rapband from Berlin. The members all came from Bremen and surrounding areas and moved to the Berlin because of their studies.
De Fofftig Penns make rap music in Low German, wich is quite new. Next to 50 Cent ( see their name ) they also name the Dutch rap group De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig as one of their greatest sources of inspiration. This can be explained because one of their MC’s, Malte Battelfeld, lifed and studied in Amsterdam. De Fofftig Penns made a song like 50 Cents P.I.M.P. and transformed it into P.I.N.T. as well as they transformed De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig song Watskeburt into Watspasseert.

On the festival they will compete with another song for covers are not allowed on Liet International.

De Fofftig Penns started to get serious only about a year ago. Their first reactions about their performances, especially in near their original home between Oldenburg and Bremen are pretty good. They see competing at Liet International as an honour and are taking a part of their fan club to Leeuwarden.

Lyrics

Platt!

Moin! – Platt!

Platt is nich bloots he, wenn he goden Bobel smöökt
Platt bün ok ik nadem ik Küstennebel sööp

Platt – wi snackt över Platt
wi snackt snackt ‘n beten Platt
Platt Platt – Platt

Wi sünd de Mallbüddels ut Bremen-Noord
riemelt up Platt, jo dat is use Oort
So as dat, vele Saken sünd Platt,

dick an’n Start, in de Maak
so geiht dat to
Use Straat, us Tohuus, us Block
Rap gifft dat nich bloots in’t MV man ok up Plattdüütsch
ofschonst wi mehr Allmannsbrüüt bruukt
Jo, nu geiht los, denn man to!

Platt – wi snackt över Platt
wi snackt snackt ‘n beten Platt
Platt Platt – Platt

Moin! Moin Moin!

Platt, dat is de Spraak, de wi af un an snackt
Platt is de Koh ehr Schiet, wenn se kackt
Platt sünd use Leder, Platt is use ne’e Plaat

Platt is us Land, man hooch sünd de Bargen
Platt sünd de Blomen in use mooie Garden
Platt sünd de lütten Deerns, wenn wi mol wedder seggt: Pint!
Platt – wi snackt över Platt
wi snackt snackt ‘n beten Platt
Platt Platt – Platt

Platt

A few comments beforehand:
Platt
is a very ambiguous word, which is what the song plays with.
To start with, the native name for the language of the song – Low German – is Plattdüütsch or just Platt.
But it’s also an adjective. Platt literally means ‘flat’. But especially in (Low) German slang it has tons of other meanings.

Hello!
Flat is the land behind the dikes
Flat are the mud flats, checkt it out yourself if you don’t believe it
I’m not only having a good time while having a smoke
The same is true after I drank [a local northern German liquor speciality]

Flat is the very flat land behind the dikes
Platt
is the language that more and more people don’t care about
Not only he is having a good time while having a smoke
I am as well after I drank [a local northern german liquor speciality]

We are crazy guys from the north of Bremen
Making rhymes in low german, that’s our style
We don’t live at home anymore, took a trip to the big city
That’s how it is, many things are platt, De fofftig Penns are back
and now things get started

We’re just kids from the street, are where it’s at, in the making
That’s how it rolls, our street, our home, our block
There’s not only gangzta rap, it also exists in Low German
Even though we could use a little more bling bling
Yeah, now thing’s get started, let’s go!

Hello! – Hey what’s up?!
Platt is the language that we speak every now and then
Flat is the cow’s excretion, when doing it’s business
Our songs are silly, our new record is flat
Stupid are the jokes, that we can always hook you up with
Flat is our land, but high are the mountains
Snapped off are the flowers in our beautiful garden
Shocked are the little girls, when we use bad language
