Fiach
David Lawless
Peter Cheevers
is a 25 year old Dubliner, well respected and loved within the Irish music scene for his beautiful songwriting, exceptional voice and fantastic guitar playing. He is fondly known as the ‘Hardest Working Artist in Ireland’, but it was his talent that found him sharing the stage with the cream of Irish artists such as Damien Dempsey, Kila, Freddie White, Declan O’ Rourke, Finbar Furey, Mundy, Damien Rice, BellX1, Luka Bloom and Paddy Casey, who coincidentally said that Fiach’s song ‘Dignity’ was the best song he heard in 2005. Fiach is known for his humourous and honest live shows and his raw approach to his music, often bringing guests on stage to openly jam; but it’s his voice that really hits home… it is full with expression and control, some times hard and coarse to direct his agression on political and social issues, then suddenly wrapped around you with soft lyrics and breathy tones in his seeringly confessional lyrics. His concerts are where this young artist shines, always unpredictable, and always a very special event. Up to now, Fiach has been steady on the gig circuit, playing festivals in France, Holland, New York and Scotland as well as gracing every top venue in Ireland, so it is only a matter of time before he is playing at a venue near you… so check out a gig and see what the Dublin music scene has been quietly hiding, and what it soon will be able to hide no more.

Lyrics
Fiach – Sea Táim
Sea Táim arís in ísle brí
Mar táim go mór faoi chuing na dí
Is beidh mé dearóil fós a mhac
Mar tá an saol seo in a……
Is canfaidh mise amhrán ceart
Faoin saol is nithe ‘tá ‘nois thart
Is beidh mo gháire sa gan bhrí
Ach ní, ní fada uaim am lui
Is cíonn tú go bhfuilimse inniu
I lonn dubh
An saol ar fad dom chrá
Ní romhamsa chuile lá
Ach beor is saol gan treor
Dhá shúil lán-ghorm agus séimh
A lasfaidh coineall i mo chléimh
Féach thú i leaba eile anocht
Ag géiriú mo dhuibhe is mo thocht
Is cíonn tú go bhfuilimse inniu
I lonn dubh
An saol ar fad dom chrá
Ní romhamsa chuile lá
Ach beor is saol gan treor
Sea táim arís in ísle brí
Fiach – So I (Sea Táim)
So I have fallen down again
Cos I have swallowed 9 or 10
And i will wake up in a ditch
Oh aye, cos life is such a…….
And I will sing another song
Of times and people long since gone
And I will smile a surface smile
‘Cos I’ll be sleeping in a while
And you know that I’ve sunk to
A new low
I’t what I’m going through
It’s something that i have to drown and swallow down
Those eyes a pale candescent blue
Could light my candle through and through
Tonight you grace a different bed
So I will douse my aching head
And you know that I’ve sunk to
A new low
I’t what I’m going through
It’s something that i have to drown and swallow down
So I have fallen down again
