During the christmas holidays Frisian broadcaster Omrop Fryslân broadcasts Liet International 2009 several times. The Frisian tv does this on several platforms: on the second Dutch national channel Nederland 2 on New Years Day, on the Frisian tv channel and on the internet as well.
The first broadcast was on Saturday 19 december. You can watch this programme on-line now. This programme focuses on the songs of the eleven contestants, who sing in eleven different European minority languages.
On Nederland 2 Omrop Fyrslân will broadcast a longer programme about Liet International 2009 on New Years Day. This programme will be repeated on the 4th of January 2010. In this programme all contestants are interviewed briefly and all songs are subtitles in the Dutch language. After the television broadcast this programme will be available on the internet as well.
Omrop Fryslân radio also pays lots of attention to both Frisian song contest Liet and Liet International. On Christmas Day Omrop Fryslân devoted a radioshow of two hours to both song contests.
During the first hour Omrop Fryslân broadcasted live recordings of the last edition of Liet International. During the second hour presenter and well known Frisian singer Gurbe Douwstra took a dive in the rich archive of Frisian song contest Liet, which is being organised and registered by the Frisian radio since 1991.
